Lago de Atitlan

First off, sorry for the delay of these posts. I have 3 whole followers and I fear I am letting them down.

From Mexico, Rach and I traveled to Guatemala where we relaxed in the Lago de Atitlan area. Our bus ride was supposed to be 8 hours, but ended up being 14. We didn't realize this until we got to our hostel and looked at a clock. I think not knowing exactly how long the trip was while it was happening helped to make it less annoying (for me at least!).

It turns out that flying to Costa Rica from Guatemala is way cheaper and far easier than flying from Mexico (from Mexico I would have had to fly back to Miami for a connection), so that and the fact that I've been dying to see Atitlan was reason enough for us to plan a trip! It was just for a few days, but it was relaxing. I jumped off a cliff, danced a little salsa and daydreamed about having an electric powered houseboat on the lake.

I could have definitely used a few more days there, but now I have a reason to return. If you ever find yourself in Guatemala, you HAVE to visit Atitlan. It's the deepest lake Central America, it's tranquil, serene and gorgeous. Trust me ;)
